3 arrested in Cricket betting racket in Jammu and Kashmir

Three individuals have been captured in Jammu and Kashmir in Cricket wagering racket. The police compel has just assaulted the shop and a measure of Rs. 30,000 has been seized from them too.

Jammu: Three individuals were captured for supposedly running a wagering racket in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur locale, police said on Monday. 

The captured, distinguished as Varinder Kumar, his right hand Rohit Kumar and Rajinder Kumar, were captured on Sunday when they were tolerating wagers on a cricket coordinate, they said. 

Cell phones, note pads with records of ongoing wagers and Rs 30,000 money were seized from them, Udhampur Senior Superintendent of Police Rayees Mohammad Bhat said. 

"In light of dependable data, a police group attacked a leased shop at Salain Talib, Udhampur, having a place with one Raju," Bhat said. Raju is accepted to be the boss of the racket, he stated, including that Varinder Kumar was a partner of Raju. 

The SSP said Raju is the inhabitant of the attacked shop and a manhunt was propelled to capture him. "More than Rs 30,000 has been recouped from the ownership of the captured people," he included. 

On essential cross examination, Varinder Kumar uncovered that Raju and different bookies used to acknowledge wagers on cricket matches, including of the IPL, and pass on the data to top bookies in Mumbai, the SSP said. 

"Raju's system is spread crosswise over India and he used to acknowledge wagers from sub-operators on cricket matches," Bhat stated, including that the seized cell phones had contact quantities of bookies, sub-specialists and accounts identified with wagers, he said. 

"A case under area 3/4/13 of Gambling Act was enrolled at the Udhampur police headquarters. Promote examination concerning the case is going on," he included.
